You’ll have to drag me back to the villlage

So if more people are running away from the villages in Uganda to the urban areas, where is the wisdom of government functionaries harping on about “return to the village and till the land”?

Singers have made an unstoppable tune out of the theme of ‘I am not going back to the village’ and we nod approvingly because the bards are singing for all of us.

Agriculture, which used to feed us all is turning out to be more disappointing everyday. Yet the powers that be still want us to believe it is the mainstay of our economy.

It is not.

Unfortunately, the jet set stuck in 4 Turkeys and Knight Riders is not sure who to listen to. They are willing to go with whoever throws down their opponent first.

And so there we are.

About Steven

It wasn't me; arrest the voices. It was the voices in my head. Sike! I am Ugandan first. I care for development in my country. I am a curious observer second and I care to know what you think.
